We have looked after 500+ families now at Rotunda over the past four years. Children, parents and grandparents alike think that Rotunda is a very family friendly place to stay.

Spring is in the air and we've just cottoned on to the fact that our favourite indie cinema in Birmingham, The Electric, does weddings. Getting hitched at the Electric and then honeymooning with us at the Rotunda? That sounds like a very cool plan.
If you want to plan something special at The Electric, call
manager Sam Bishop on 0121 643 7879 or e-mail
And don't forget to give us a call at Staying Cool - our chic apartments are just perfect for proposals and honeymoons. Our guest relations team will make sure that everything goes swimmingly.
David Thomas of The Independent recommends Staying Cool at the Rotunda for romance.
A spectacular free event called The Voyage will take place in Birmingham from 21 June 2012 - 24 June 2012. This will be an amazing sight! An enormous ship will sail into the centre of Victoria Square docking itself beside the city's Town Hall.
If you'd like to watch The Voyage and stay in style in Birmingham, we currently have availability for those nights.
You'll be able to watch the action unfold onboard the ship and be caught up in the atmosphere on the ground, where seagulls swoop and travellers prepare to embark on their journey. When the ship sets sail, the Town Hall will be transformed by spectacular projected imagery and the city's skyline will become a dream of undiscovered worlds.
Professional dancers and aerialists will join forces with a huge choir, live musicians and more than 140 community performers to transform the Square and tell the story.

And back at your Staying Cool base you'll be able to enjoy the rest of London 2012 on TV in true style. Make sure that you have the beers chilling in the fridge for when you get back from the match! The apartments are very family-friendly too.

Cadbury World is holding one of its popular Heritage Weekends from Saturday 21st April to Sunday 22nd April.
Three walks a day will take place around Bournville looking at the history of the area and places of interest. Jim Roberts, the Rotunda's original architect in the 1960s, has been interviewed by the BBC about his original vision for the building and how he feels about modern Birmingham.
Jim told the BBC about the Rotunda: "We started with a little stubby thing of about 12 storeys high, but then it gradually grew into what we know now.
"Originally the final design for the Rotunda was to have a revolving restaurant at the top, but they decided that there wasn't enough money in that."
After four decades of office use, the Rotunda was given a new lease of life and Jim Roberts worked with the architects and Urban Splash.
He said: "I had the wonderful opportunity to make the Rotunda what I originally wanted to make it.
"This building is just one example of how redevelopment can be for the better - and in this case, bring improvements to the original building."
The full interview is available here.
Guests can now enjoy coffee from the Urban Coffee Company when they stay with us. It's a local, independent company run from two excellent cafes in Birmingham (Church St and Jewellery Quarter).
Like us, Urban Coffee Company take their coffee very seriously. The Urban Espresso blend we have chosen for guests is a blend of 100% Arabica beans from four different farms: Brazillian Daterra, top grade coffee from Honduras La Centrale, Costa Rico Tres Rio and India Monsoon Malabar AA. It's mellow and utterly delicious.
