The Staying Cool concept is based on its owners experiences of living in one city and working in another

We set up Staying Cool to create a better alternative to a hotel and a traditional serviced apartment for us regular business travellers. Everyone in the team has travelled extensively for work (and pleasure) and has used this experience to try to create pretty much the perfect home-away-from-home.

Inspirational spaces
You'll find that Staying Cool apartments are places where you actually want to work, feel creative (and even inspired by), as well as relaxing and unwinding in. No two apartments are the same so you are bound to find something that will suit your style. They are also perfect for client and colleague meetings - no more meeting room fees or whispered conversations in hotel lobbies.

No hidden extras

Fed up by the great wifi rip-off? Yes us too. As well as a great place to stay, your rate includes free secure wifi, fresh coffee and Fairtrade teas, fresh organic milk oranges for the juicer plus aromatherapy spa products, Egyptian cotton towels and robes. Essentially everything you would expect in a boutique hotel and more. Obviously there's a dishwasher, washer dryer, decent ironing board, iron and hair dryer... and a few in-apartment surprises too. Plus you'll find the Staying Cool concierge service available from 8.30am-10.00pm daily.

Eating in: cooking up or dialing out

You can pre-order breakfasts (organic full English, the healthier fit and fruity, continental or smoked salmon bagels - or just your favourite cereal) and also have room service from 6pm from a local delivery service company. We can do your food shopping for you or simply tell you where the nearest supermarkets and best delis are. Whichever option suits you best.

Either way, you will have a really well-equipped kitchen with hob, oven, grill, microwave, porcelain crockery, proper utensils and if there's anything you need that we don't happen to provide, we'll get it for you free-of-charge. If you like to entertain, then you'll find plenty of everything - four red wine, four white wine, four champagne flutes, four tumblers, four high balls... four of everything per one bed apartment...

Comfort and technology

All apartments have free wifi, a 24, 32 or 48" TV with Sky sports/movies and a DVD player as standard. Each also has an Apple Mac which is your entertainment system. Most also have a TV in the bedroom. We only use the very best pocket-sprung mattresses with memory foam to guarantee you a great night's sleep (they're called the Ultimate. You'll know why in the morning!).

Service

There are only eight of us in the company so we provide both a very personal and a very personalised service. That said, we will be as visible or as invisible as you like. Either way, we provide an impressive behind-the-scenes service so that if there are any problems, someone is on call 24/7 and if anything breaks we replace it or try to get it repaired within 24 hours.

Locations

We have serviced apartments in central Birmingham at the Rotunda, at three locations in Manchester within a one mile radius along the (nice!) Deansgate corridor. We can advise on which location will best suit you when you book. But if you know Manchester, we're at:

• The Edge (next door to the Lowry Hotel and a stone's throw from Selfridges and Harvey Nichols)
• Urban Splash developments in Castlefield, right by the river and within a ten minute walk of Manchester Central and other business districts. A must for urban regeneration fans.
• Hill Quays - a stone's throw from Manchester Central and other conference venues

Length of stay

There is no minimum stay and no maximum stay. It just gets cheaper the longer you stay.

Price

Monthly prices range from £1,800 for a standard one bed apartment (Manchester) or a Mini (Birmingham) to £3,800 + VAT for a three bed (Manchester) or Maxi (Birmingham). We also offer reduced rates for guests who want to stay for a few nights each week.
