The apartment is located in a 200-year-old building (39 authentically narrow steps up, and no lift, in case you were wondering...) in the fashionable Raval area of the old city. It's very near to the Museum of Contemporary Art and just a few metres from the top end of the main Ramblas, near Placa Catalunya.
The Raval, formerly the site of Monastery buildings and home to the amazing Boqueria market, is now a neighbourhood full of galleries and arty bars and restaurants. The apartment is well located for exploring the old city as well as the Passeig de Gracia and Eixample.
The building was built in 1808 and certainly feels its age. The apartment is on the second floor. We have gutted it, retained all the original features and stylishly renovated it to a very high standard. It comprises a spacious living/dining room with original floor tiles and floor-to-ceiling French doors onto a small Juliette (think Romeo, Romeo...) balcony plus galley kitchen, spacious modern bathroom with walk-in power shower and quiet bedroom at the rear. The apartment has air-conditioning for Summer and heating for Winter throughout.
There's free wireless broadband for your laptop and an iPod dock, as well as a TV and DVD player.
