Cheshire smokehouse bacon, Lakeland sausage, free range eggs, baked beans, tomatoes when in season (or tinned when not with a great recipe), fresh mushrooms, six grain bread, local butter, local preserves
As with all things at LOVE, everything is as fresh and as local as possible. Bacon comes from happy pigs and is smoked in rural Cheshire by a family firm. Your sausages are made to a secret recipe from Cumbrian pigs and your free range eggs come from Cheshire. Fresh mushrooms are from our local vegetable supplier and the six grain bread is made by the renowned Barbakan bakery in Chorlton, just down the road. The butter is freshly churned in lush Lancashire. You also get baked beans - we've tried many but Heinz is still the best and either fresh tomatoes when in season or tinned Italian ones, with a mouth-watering recipe. Preserves come from Cheshire.
Four fresh bagels, smoked salmon, cream cheese
Sheer delight in a box. Fresh bagels from renowned, local Barbakan bakery - left to rise overnight and baked fresh each morning. Smoked salmon - always Scotland's finest and occasionally fresh wild smoked salmon from the Lune Valley - so watch out for that. Our cream cheese comes from Longley Farm in Yorkshire just over the border - simply the best cream cheese in the world.
£18 serves two
Two small packs of Dorset cereals, four Longley Farm yogurts, fresh fruit selection, two bottles of James white apple juice
Dorset cereals have become so popular, that they're now in most supermarkets. Normally a turnoff for foodies, but this is an exception - their quality remains fantastic. Longley Farm in deepest Yorkshire, just over the border, produces the freshest yogurts, with a natural tang to them. We all need fresh fruit so we source the best seasonal fruit with the fewest air miles. James White extracts all the goodness from their fruit and packs it into little bottles of delight - open one and you'll want the other!
£12 serves two
£15 serves two with a loaf of six grain bread, local butter and home-made preserves
Everything in the original Healthy and Fruity box plus a loaf of six grain bread, local butter and home-made preserves.
Slice of Fontal Cheese, salami selection, six grain bread and local butter
A little bit of Italy to start the day. Love Saves the Day spent a long time choosing the best cheeses and salami for their two delis. Terribly hard work, but someone had to do it. Fontal is a creamy delicate cheese that makes a perfect match for salami. The salami is simply the best available. Six grain bread comes from the renowned Barbakan bakery, made in Manchester, just down the road.
Bottle of NV Champagne, four fresh bagels, pack of smokehouse salmon, tub of cream cheese, dill pickle pot
Start every day like Winston Churchill did, with a bottle of bubbly… our champagne is produced by the house of Hostomme and is one of the finest available. In the UK you can only buy it at Love Saves the Day in Manchester or Harrods and Fortnum’s in London. There is no finer accompaniment to champagne than smoked salmon, bagels and cream cheese (as described above). All fantastic ingredients lovingly chosen by us. Marvellous!
Large Burts crisps, smokehouse nuts, three Divine chocolate bars (milk, plain and dark), luxury farmhouse biscuits
Burts crisps are hand fried in Dorset. Each packet informs you of the field from which the spuds have been picked and who fried them – you can’t get better than that! Smokehouse nuts are hand smoked in Cheshire and addictive – be warned… Divine – well it says it all – this is the best of fair-trade chocolate from a company owned by the growers. Farmhouse biscuits are hand made by a small local firm and taste as though they have been made by our own fair hand!
Dark berry nose, rasping minty berry fruit, all contentment and poise, not confection and noise.
This wine is made from schiava grapes, indigenous to the Trentino region of Italy. Clear red, transparent with violet hues, its bouquet recalls fruity aromas on a pleasant taste of wild berries.
A deliciously clean and refreshing zesty citrus taste. A toasty classic champagne for all ocassions.
Full of summer fruits, poached pears and cherry and vanilla ice-cream. A champagne to celebrate love.
Classic yeasty overtones. Fresh fruit salad with plenty of mango and pineapple topped with vanilla-infused clotted cream.
