100 of Birmingham's advertising billboards have been taken over by artists from today until April 29th.
48Sheet, a project by EC Arts, is an artistic intervention aiming to transform the city of Birmingham and parts of the region into a unique gallery. The billboards will exhibit work by regional and national artists including work by internationally renowned artists MadeIn (Shanghai) and Raqs Media Collective (Delhi).
The project aims to create an urban gallery for people to explore throughout the month of April. There is an online map identifying 48Sheet billboard locations. There are recommended cycling and walking routes to encourage people to enjoy, discover and rediscover Birmingham's canals and back streets and the Cultural Quarter of Digbeth. All recommended routes start from the 48Sheet project space based at The Mailbox which will be open from 2 April, Monday - Saturday 10am - 5pm.
Could you spare a couple of minutes to complete a quick survey about technology? Everyone who takes part will have the chance to win six bottles of champagne.
