Child Friendly Rooms: Our Apartments Are Cool For Kids
10 reasons to love our child friendly rooms at Rotunda Birmingham
“Someone has put a lot of thought into making the stay a wonderful experience for guests, and it shows.” Made for Mums
Serviced apartments are perfect for families. You can enjoy all the benefits of a hotel with the added comfort of being able to spread out in your own family space. As more places re-open and with the sweeping views you will have from your apartment, being in the city centre couldn’t be more fun.
1) Banish boredom
Taking a family holiday in Birmingham can be great fun – no matter what the British weather is doing. And staying right in the heart of the city means that you have brilliant entertainment right on your doorstep. Birmingham has lots of indoor options ranging from museums and art galleries to sports and shopping. It’s a very child-friendly place to take a break.

Some of our favourite things to do
- Visiting the city’s amazing library. This stunning building (both inside and out) has plenty to keep the whole family entertained.
- Checking out MiniBrum at ThinkTank, Birmingham’s utterly fabulous child-sized world that features recognisable landmarks, such as the Birmingham canals, Selfridges and the Old Joe Clock Tower at the University of Birmingham.
- Grab a bite at the Disney Cafe in the world’s biggest Primark, located just across the street from Rotunda.
- Impressing cool teens by taking them for a mooch around The Custard Factory. Birmingham’s creative and digital quarter offers vintage shops, cafés and much more. Read our Birmingham With Teens blog for more ideas.
- Enjoying the ultimate stress-free shopping trip. With such a great location in the centre of Birmingham, our serviced apartments are truly a shopper’s paradise. You have the mighty Bullring and Grand Central shopping centres next door. Enjoy some retail therapy and then relax back at your apartment.
- Burning off excess energy in the city’s child-friendly squares and parks.
- Take an easy day trip to nearby Stratford-upon-Avon and indulge yourselves in all things
Shakespeare . In the summer months, you can travel there and back by steam train.
There are tonnes more things to do in Birmingham for children. Visit Birmingham has a dedicated website section for families, highlighting a great range of ideas and suggestions to keep children of all ages entertained throughout their stay.

2) Food glorious food!
Each of our Birmingham serviced apartments has a fully-equipped kitchen and dining area with all the kit you need. Having a well-equipped kitchen makes rustling up a bowl of pasta is as easy as it is at home.
Want to eat out? There are lots of child-friendly restaurants a hop, skip and a jump away as we’re so central. You can also have takeaways delivered to your apartment door. Basically, being in an apartment gives you the ultimate flexibility and keeps everyone happy.

3) Sheer Practicality
From warming bottles in the microwave, flinging a wash in after a toddler ‘incident’ to making an espresso in your Illy machine, to being able to introduce your teens to the joy of ironing, you have all the comforts of home in a beautifully designed apartment.

4) Space to have fun (and have time out)
There’s plenty of room for everyone to sit comfortably and relax after a fun-packed day out in the city. It’s so much more relaxing than squashing into a family hotel room. Our two-bedroom Maxi apartments give you two bedrooms and two ensuite bathrooms plus a very spacious living room/kitchen diner. Our penthouses give you all that plus a spacious, private balcony.

5) Relaxing evenings
Our Clubman, Olympian, Maxi and Penthouse serviced apartments have separate bedrooms, which means that when the small people sleep, you can enjoy the rest of your evening with a glass of fizz (or a cup of complimentary hot chocolate!) taking in the rooftop views of the city.

6) Value (and style)
Your Birmingham family stay will also be great value. Rates are per apartment, not per person, and there are no hidden extras to pay for (unlike some other Birmingham family hotels). We also make sure that you have everything you need to make a great cuppa (or coffee) during your stay and provide kitchen essentials such as oil, balsamic vinegar etc.

7) Family-friendly freebies
We won’t ask you to pay for travel cots or high chairs. You can prebook these (and very cute nightlights too).
Our complimentary Cool for Kids package with free gifts and goodies always gets things off to a swinging start.

8) Room to recharge
We’re located right in the city centre and that is very child-friendly. Get out and explore then pop back any time to your apartment with the kids and grab a bite to eat, play some board games (supplied), watch TV or take a nap – you choose. You’ll also have free, high-quality Wi-Fi for your entire stay.

9) Putting your feet up
You are having a break and that’s exactly what a serviced apartment delivers. You will find everything ready to use on arrival (beds made up etc) and it’s our job to clean the apartment after you check out not yours.
During your stay, you can enjoy a free, daily maid service. Just let us know if you’d rather opt-out of it.

10) Our family-friendly team
Our helpful concierge team at Rotunda love having children and families to stay and will happily give you advice. If you want to find the best child-friendly restaurants Birmingham has to offer – or the top things to do in Birmingham for children – then we’ll be delighted to help you to get the most from this great city.
