There are some brilliant options for entertaining kids at BMAG (Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery) and ThinkTank, (Birmingham Science Museum) this half term.

Get your kids into myths, legends and tales. There’s a free family trail running at BMAG until Friday 2nd June which will help them to unearth the stories told throughout the galleries and artworks. 

Love dressing up? Kids can transform themselves into characters from myths and legends - or even one of BMAG’s paintings - from Tuesday, 30th May to Thursday, 1st June. The Portrait Studio costs only £1 a print and there’s no need to pre-book.

Hear Cleopatra’s tales on Thursday, 1st June. Your brave explorers will also be asked to solve a mysterious code of the Egyptian map. Your kids could win free tickets for ThinkTank if they complete their mission. There's also a Pokemon Go Hunt on at the museum from 11am-4pm on Thursday.

Last but not least, a free Minecraft Mask sessions will be back on Friday 2nd June in the Gas Hal

Do your kids love Springwatch? Why not head for the newly expanded ThinkTank wildlife gallery? Find out about the wildlife in Birmingham, such as otters and peregrines.

ThinkTank half-term activities include The Obvious Elephant Storytelling for Under 8s, a Fly Me To The Moon show, wildlife arts and craft sessions, and object handling where you can get up close to some fascinating artifacts.

Visit Thinktank during half term and you can also check out Totality, a huge rotating mirror ball that illuminates and sparkles with over 10,000 images of nearly every solar eclipse documented by humankind.
