Escape the exhibition hall of the NEC Birmingham and relax in a city centre aparthotel instead
There is certainly plenty of choice when searching for a hotel near NEC Birmingham. We suggest you don’t stay on site at the NEC, but rather take a stress-free eight-minute train journey followed by a three-minute walk to stay at our Rotunda aparthotel in Birmingham city centre for a complete break from a windowless exhibition hall. And here’s why.
Over 100 brilliant restaurants on your doorstep to choose from
After a long day at the NEC you deserve a fun night out. You are spoilt for choice for restaurants and bars in Birmingham. There is everything from Mexican to Michelin Stars and vegan to Vietnamese. And most are within walking distance of Rotunda.
Or choose to dine in
If you prefer to cook your own food then our serviced apartments come with fully-equipped kitchens and a range of simple recipes if you are seeking inspiration. Alternatively, many brilliant restaurants offer delivery either via Deliveroo or JustEat. You’ve got M&S Food, Waitrose and Tesco on your doorstep too. Our Guest Relations team can advise or have a look through our Dining In guide.
Complimentary Cheese Selection
We’re offering all guests who book our NEC Visitor rate via our website a complimentary cheese selection on arrival night. Perfect if you arrive late or just fancy a light nibble while you gaze out over your amazing panoramic view across the city. To book select the NEC Visitor rate at checkout and bring along your NEC event badge or tickets to show us at check-in.
Soak away your aches and pains
Our Clubman, Maxi and Penthouse apartments all come with a bath and a rainfall shower for you to relax in and soak away any aches and pains after a long day at the NEC. We have hand-blended aromatherapy toiletries and fluffy white dressing gowns to chill in.
Early check-ins and late check-outs
We offer early check-ins if you want to drop off your bag or stay a bit later to fit in with your exhibition schedule.
Easy left luggage
You can leave your luggage with us after you’ve checked out and collect it later that day. If you are a regular NEC attendee you can use our complimentary leave and retrieve service (we look after your things and put them back in your apartment next time you stay).
Only 15 minutes away from the NEC
Rotunda is a three-minute walk from Birmingham Grand Central and New Street Station which has eight trains an hour to Birmingham International, the train station for the NEC (and the airport). You can buy your digital tickets on www.trainline.com (no physical tickets necessary) which cost £4.40 return per day.
Car parking at the NEC can be a problem at peak times, with longer waiting times to get into the car park. If you need to drop off items, or prefer to travel by car, for the you can take an Uber which costs £20-£25 or a black cab, £30-£40. It’s a 20-minute drive outside of rush hour or 30-40 minutes at peak times for the 20 mile journey. Car parking at £20 per 24 hours at the NEC is also cheaper in the city centre (£15).
