With annual conferences, awards ceremonies and speaker events back on the agenda after the pandemic, Birmingham’s business visitors are increasingly looking for unique hotels near the ICC.
Location, Location, Location
Our serviced apartments are in a prime spot on the top floors of Birmingham’s iconic Rotunda building, a pleasant stroll to the Conference Quarter. This is where you’ll find the ICC conference centre, which welcomes more than 350,000 visitors from across the globe each year, the Library of Birmingham and The Exchange.
The city’s main train stations, Birmingham New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill, are minutes away on foot from Rotunda too.
Escape The Crowds and Look After of Yourself
Our business hotel is near enough to the ICC for you to escape your conference colleagues and slip into your own cocoon for a few hours between sessions.
It’s around a 10 minute walk from the ICC to Staying Cool which gives you the chance to get in some exercise (alternatively you can pop into the nearest gym which is just 150 metres from Rotunda’s front door) while taking in some of the city centre’s best sights.
Centenary Square, which has recently been transformed with a reflecting pool beside the Library of Birmingham, the ICC, the renowned Symphony Hall and Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
You’ll also see the stunning architecture of Birmingham’s shiny new Paradise Development and Victoria Square, home to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and Birmingham Town Hall.
Look out for the giant fountain, fondly known as ‘the Floozie in the Jacuzzi’ by locals, which takes pride of place in front of the Council House.
There are also plenty of shops, including unique independents, bars and coffee houses to explore around New Street.
Birmingham’s renowned Bullring shopping centre, which is home to Selfridges, is on Staying Cool’s doorstep too. Our Shopping in Birmingham blog explains all…
Home From Home
Unlike the soulless boxes which define some hotel rooms our stylish apartments offer a home from home experience with space to work and hold meetings as well as enjoying plenty of peace and quiet to relax.
Francine Houben, the chief architect of the Library of Birmingham, and her team at Mecanoo treated Staying Cool as a second home while working on the landmark project.
Each of our apartments and penthouses has free access to fast, secure Wi-Fi so you can work in comfort in our stylish lounges.
You’ll also find fully-equipped kitchens and dining areas to prepare your own food and snacks whenever you want.
Fresh oranges and grapefruits for juicers are complimentary, along with ground coffee from local experts Quarter Horse, Fairtrade teas, fresh milk and cereals.
All this means you can skip the queues for the normal hotel buffet breakfast and make your own healthy one at a time to suit you. You could even host your own breakfast meeting in your apartment.
And if you don’t fancy cooking for yourself some of Birmingham’s best restaurants, take-aways and supermarkets are on your doorstep. Our friendly Guest Relations team will be more than happy to advise or check out our Dining Out Guide.
Take Your Business to Another Level
Our penthouses are perfect for hosting a break-away meeting or a small drinks do for up to 20 clients or colleagues.
If you have a special request, like a bottle of fizz, Staying Cool’s friendly team will be happy to help.
Each apartment is also well-stocked with snacks, including popcorn, crisps and sweet treats.
The Best Views in Birmingham
Our apartment’s floor-to-ceiling windows, which open, and the breath-taking wraparound balconies in our penthouses are a refreshing contrast to windowless conference rooms.
The amazing 360 degree panoramic views have been described as the best in Birmingham.
It’s a place to see stunning sunrises and sunsets and the city’s skyline twinkling at night.
Which makes our hotel the perfect place for business visitors to relax, unwind and feel inspired after a busy day.
