What's On in Birmingham this October
Monday October 3, 2016
The UK’s second city is really buzzing this month! Here’s our pick of what’s on in Birmingham this October from Frankenstein to ancient Egypt:
- Birmingham Literature Festival 6th-16th October
Dive in to the city’s literature festival with over 80 events. We’re booking Walter Presents, Henry Normal, Miranda Sawyer and Raw Concrete (book the latter and you could win a stay with us!)
- Fierce Festival 7th-11th October
Take a walk on the cultural wild side with Fierce. Fierce is a totally unique, always thought provoking festival featuring (amongst other things) theatre, dance, music, installations and and parties.
- Birmingham Comedy Festival 7th-16th October
Fun! Fun! Fun! The likes of Romesh Ranganathan, The Boy With Tape On His Face and Jason Byrne will be appearing at this well-established comedy fest.
- Universal Monsters 13th-31st October
We rate the programming at The Electric cinema very highly. This indie gem is bringing a Universal Monsters season to Birmingham. Don’t miss creepy classics like Frankenstein, The Mummy and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
- Grand Designs 19th-23rd October
We need to talk about Kevin - we never get tired of Mr McCloud and his passion for great design. He and the Grand Design team are back at the Birmingham NEC at the end of October. Check out our NEC VIP offer.
- The Exorcist 21st Oct – 5th Nov
If The Electric’s Universal Monster season hasn’t thrilled you enough then this 18+ production at Birmingham Rep might do the job.
- Egyptology Conference 28th-30th October
Fascinated by ancient Egypt? BMAG is hosting this new Egyptology conference. It is open to the public and features expert speakers. A very cool, very unusual way to fill 48 hours.
