Introducing the Cotton Yard
Last updated: 13 June 2019
We are thrilled to announce that construction has commenced on our new apartment hotel the Cotton Yard in Manchester. The 41-unit apartment hotel on the corner of Canal Street and Chorlton Street will open in September 2020.
Offering a mix of studios and suites over four floors in the existing building, together with eight duplex penthouses in a new two-storey rooftop extension, the build project will take approximately 12 months and see the first guests arrive through its doors in September 2020.

The building is a real gem, a classic Manchester warehouse, with tonnes of character and makes a perfect location for a design-led apartment hotel by Staying Cool. We are especially pleased to be opening in Manchester as it is the city where our story began.
Phil Burke, Chair of Village Licenced Businesses Association said: ‘We are really excited about bringing Staying Cool into the Village Quarter and reinvigorating this fantastic building for a new lease of life as a boutique apartment hotel.’’
Once home to Oliver Peyton’s Mash & Air in the 1990s - a favourite haunt of some of the Staying Cool team - the warehouse was acquired by the Cringle Corporation. Staying Cool won a competitive CBRE tender, to find the right hotel or serviced apartment operator. The architects on the scheme are Halliday Meecham and Euan Kelly Property Solutions, the planning consultants.
